Boost Productivity By Writing Software Like You're Playing WoW (or better yet, Dota 2)

This is going to be a really short one.

I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to my Claude code setup. I protect my context window like a gated garden. I don't like the idea of "skills", "memories", most MCPs, most RAG pipelines, etc.

I've played around with some Claude skills, but I haven't really found one that I found useful. Until now.

I've never played World of Warcraft, but what got me hooked was the Invoker voice pack from Dota 2. Surely Valve should capitalize on a collaboration with Anthropic. I cannot dream up a more perfect announcement for a permission blockage than Invoker proclaiming:

This is the sort of customization I can get behind. It reminds me of the early web and home PCs. Customized cursors, sound effects. It's joyful, it's fun. However silly it sounds, it really does have great potential. I would not be surprised to see similar features released by the big AI companies.

Like the tool's author says, I'm not surprised it has gained traction.

me PeonPing. 36 hours ago me was just little bash script. play "work work" when human give claude task. was joke. heh heh. funny sounds.

then 30+ humans come to goldmine. they not stop. they keep building. me not understand at first. why so many come?

they give me 100+ pull requests. 47 sound packs. five whole coding tools. they build registry. they build website. they make me work over SSH. they put me in containers. they give me mobile notifications so me can ping your phone. much much work was done.

me not just speak orc now. me speak GLaDOS. StarCraft battlecruiser. Helldivers. Duke Nukem. Dota 2 axe. Rick Sanchez. even Sopranos. Age of Empires villager. daedric princes. seven languages. me very confused but also very proud.

one human build whole TypeScript plugin. another give me Kiro adapter. someone teach me to get angry when you click too fast. "stop poking me!" someone else make me work through SSH tunnels and devcontainers. me go everywhere now.

all this in 36 hours. zug zug.

me think me understand now why humans come.

you all sit staring at terminal all day. watching AI agents work. and what you hear? nothing. silence. you wait. you forget. you alt-tab to twitter. bad.

when job done you should HEAR it. when something break you should KNOW. when agent need permission you should not have to check every 30 seconds like nervous peasant.

sound is what missing. not just beep boop. personality.

we build open spec called CESP so any tool can have sounds. any creator can make pack. you want your coding agent to sound like GLaDOS? done. want angry russian brewmaster? also done. want murloc? ...we have that too. mrglglgl.

me just getting started though. right now me just play sounds. but soon. soon me will be more. me will be autonomous peon. maintain own project. review PRs. close issues. ship code. all while saying "job's done" in orc voice.

other tools just sit there quiet. me have personality. me think that matters.
